About the artist

Hello! My name is Jen,
I'm the creator behind Jen Johnson Body Casting - a project dedicated to celebrating women, in all of our shapes and forms. My wish is to support women as they navigate their way toward accepting their bodies just as they are; beautiful, powerful, and each one unique. My aim is to create a visual journal of the casts that I create, alongside a piece of each woman's story about the relationship she has with her body. I hope that by sharing our stories, we may support and uplift each other on our individual journeys toward self-love. All women are welcome, and celebrated here!
A little about me
Growing up, I struggled with my own body image. There has always been a running list of things I wished I could change; I compared my body to others and always found it lacking. My lack of body confidence held me back from so much because I would never have dared to do certain things, like run on the beach in a bathing suit! Since being pregnant and giving birth to my son in 2020, my body has changed drastically. I have lots of new and extra lines and stripes, I'm a lot softer in places, and my breasts show the result of 2.5 years of breastfeeding, and counting. My body has done miraculous things, and for the first time I can honestly say that I love my body.
The journey is definitely not linear, and there are many moments when I feel insecure or wish that something looked differently, and that's okay. We're all somewhere a little different along our journeys toward self-acceptance & self-love, and I hope that my work inspires you to take a couple more steps forward, too! Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
